That means that rather than permanently assigning a specific IP to that machine, the machine “asks” for an IP address when it connects to the network.ĭynamic IP addresses are simpler to configure, and allow for IP addresses to be re-used when the machines that they were temporarily assigned to are taken offline. : Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (2) I218-V Here is what I get when I type in ipconfig /all My router/modem is all in one, provided by my ISP, Comcast. Any help would be appreciated! Just ask if you need more information than what I provided. But, if I try to renew it, it says its unable to reach the DHCP server. My WIFI works through my laptop, the Ethernet works on my laptop too, but the Ethernet on my gaming PC just doesn't work. I even did a fresh install of Windows 10 to see if this works and my problem still persists. Even tried to call Microsoft, Comcast(My ISP), a local technician and they have no clue how to fix this. I literally tried every solution to fix this problem and nothing has worked. I've had this problem now since Thursday night. First post here and hopefully it will be a good one.
